'Destiny: The Taken King' news: An easy way to get exotic weapons and armor

When "Destiny" first came out, every player decided that exotic weapons and armor are probably the most wanted in the game, but since the items hold a certain great power, they have also become exceedingly rare.

No more worries for Destiny players. In "The Taken King," the exotic stuff are less rare and are now easier to farm, thanks to Xur's new inventory system.

As of the most recent installment's launch, Xur, the weekend merchant who has tentacles planted on his face, now works differently. The usual three exotic armor pieces are still on, which allow for one piece per class; however, the merchant now offers a "Legacy Engram," one of which is also just as yellow as other exotic engrams. The difference is it is guaranteed to evolve into a "Year One" exotic, which can be used for players who desire to fill out their collections.

As with the previous installment, Xur still offers an assorted number of items such as ammunition and syntheses. Polygon reports that in the new game, he adds a consumable called "Three of Coins," which costs seven Strange Coins for one pack of five.

The consumable gives the chance for a player to get an exotic drop that can be obtained the next time a boss is taken down. The effect has the ability to stack up but in such a way wherein if the player doesn't get an exotic when a boss is killed, the next Three of Coins will increase the capacity of producing an exotic drop for the next "ultra" or boss kill.

YouTube channel MeowzaForce Gaming has an account of a specific "ultra" fight that shows one of the best ways to farm exotic engrams using the power of Three of Coins.

The use of the consumable may seem as a painfully slow way of getting exotic weapons and armor but it is still a very cheap and easy method compared to other ways offered by Bungie.
