As "Destiny: The Taken King's" Sparrow Racing League comes to a close next week, another event will take its place. Bungie has announced that Lord Saladin's Iron Banner will be returning on Tuesday.

In a post at its official website, Bungie has made the return of Iron Banner official. Bungie also stated that the Iron Banner event will be returning to its original Control gametype. The PvP event will serve as the game's final event for the year 2015. It is scheduled to begin Tuesday, Dec. 29, after 10 a.m. Pacific time.

Guardians who will emerge champions in Lord Saladin's event and rank up will be rewarded with either an endgame gear from the lord himself or through drops at the end of each completed match.

Lord Saladin will reward champions who level up to ranks 3, 4, and 5. For Rank 3, champions will receive boots. For Rank 4, winners will be rewarded with helmets and auto rifles. For Rank 5, they will receive a shotgun.

Champions who will achieve Ranks 2, 3, and 4 can receive the following as post-game drops: helmets for Rank 2, class items and auto rifles for Rank 3, and a shotgun for Rank 4.

For the first week, Bungie teased that the rewards will include a couple of new weapons and four armor sets. In the weapons category, there's the new auto rifle, Haakon's Hatchet, and Deidri's Retort shotgun. The auto rifle has a high rate of fire and low impact, while the shotgun has high impact and low rate of fire.

The armor sets, meanwhile, include helmets, leg armor, and class items. There will be armor sets available for Titans, Hunters, and Warlocks. There will also be a PlayStation-exclusive armor, which is part of an ongoing set of exclusives for PlayStation users that will continue until next year.

These reward items will be available on rotation, according to Game Rant.
