Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls Ultimate Evil Edition Patch 2.1 Latest News and Features
The console port for the Diablo III expansion, "Reaper of Souls," was released mid-August last month with the title "Ultimate Evil Edition." Later the same month, Patch 2.1 for the game was released in the U.S. and included new features as well as bug fixes.
New features included Seasons, Greater Rifts, Leaderboards, and The Cesspools.
The Seasons feature is an optional, recurring game mode where players start from entirely from scratch where they can level up their character in Normal or Hardcore mode. Any gold, artisan level, and equipment they might have in Single-player mode cannot be used in the Seasons Mode.
Similarly, there are certain rewards and challenges that can only be accomplished in the Seasons Mode. Such rewards include new Legendaries, exclusive Transmogrification sets, and new achievement called Conquests.
Greater Rifts are a special type of timed Nephalem Rift. Formerly known as Tiered Rifts, Greater Rifts are like multi-leveled dungeons where players must complete a level within the alloted time. If the player completes the level within the alloted time, he moves down a level. The challenge ends once a player doesn't complete a level within the time limit and their score is recorded in the leaderboards afterwards.
Leaderboards are basically a ranking system where players can track their Greater Rift completion times, Seasonal achievement point totals, and Seasonal Conquest completions. This will also allow them to view their rank compared to their friends or within the clan.
Lastly, the 2.1 Patch will include a new level for Greater Rift: The Cesspools. The level design will be the same as the sewers of Westmarch from Act II of the original Diablo III single-player mode.
