Did Ndamukong Suh Learn His Lesson?

Ndamukong Suh seems to be proving his label as the dirtiest player in the NFL.

The aggressive defensive tackle for the Detroit Lions was ejected from the Thanksgiving game against the Green Bay Packers for what some are labeling a dirty play. Suh and Evan Dietrich-Smith, Green Bay Packers’ center, were briefly wrestling on the ground in the third quarter before the Lions’ DT took it to another level.

The aggressive Detroit DT was then seen stomping on the Dietrich-Smith's arm before being ejected. Instead of leaving the game quietly, Suh proceeded to argue with the referee who had thrown him out of the game.

Although the Thanksgiving game was high-tension with the Packers’ CB Pat Lee being ejected in the first half after swinging at a Lions’ player, Suh’s issues with unethical playing began before the game.

Since being drafted to the NFL in 2010, the DT was voted the dirtiest player in an AOL poll. The survey was taken from 111 players on 31 teams. The Lions’ defensive tackle was also fined $42,500 during his time in the league.

As a result of the penalties called on him, Suh even met with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell early this month to inquire about some of his penalty issues. The DT said the meeting went well, after Goodell congratulated him about taking the initiative to do so.

“I have gained a better understanding how I need to continue to play the game to help my team win," Suh said after the meeting with the commissioner. "I look forward to the rest of the season and the doing everything we can to bring the Lombardi Trophy to Detroit."

However, Suh’s behavior on Thursday caused some to question the validity of his statement earlier in the month.

“Ndamukong Suh is one of my favorite players, but he can’t help his team if he is getting ejected from games,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

Suh apologized to his fans for his performance on Thanksgiving, saying that it was unintentional.

“I know what I did and the man upstairs knows what I did,” Suh said after the Lions’ loss to the Packers on Thursday. “I don't do bad things I have no intention of hurting anyone.”
