Diem Brown Passes Away From Cancer at 32
Diem Brown, the reality star from "The Challenge," passed away Friday from numerous battles with cancer at 32 years old. Brown is well-known as an entertainment reporter and a participant in "The Challenge" as well as founding MedGift, a crowdfunding site which helps those who are undergoing medical treatment.
"MTV is tremendously sad to hear the news that Diem Brown has lost her long battle with cancer. We send our deepest condolences to her family and friends. Diem was a true fighter and brought passion to everything she touched. We will miss her," the network said in a statement.
Tuesday earlier this week, her condition worsened and reached out to fans on her Instagram and Twitter, where she wrote, "I NEED prayers and advice. My doctors are seemingly giving up but I won't & can't roll over. Whatever option I have to LIVE I'm grabbing."
She was scheduled to receive another round of chemotherapy Tuesday next week in hopes of reducing the tumors. Friend and E! correspondent Alicia Quarles was at her side during the endeavor and reiterated her pleas on her own Instagram.
"We both believe in the power of prayer. She's asked that I ask all of you to pray for her. God is good. Diem would like a huge prayer circle. I reassured her she has one. Diem smiled and told me, a little reminder never hurts," Quarles wrote.
Brown was previously diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2006 and 2012 but the cancer had now spread to her colon and stomach, eventually spreading to her liver and lymph nodes.
