'Disastrous for human rights': Pro-life leaders fear a Kamala Harris presidency

Scott Klusendorf, president of the Life Training Institute, an apologetics group that teaches pro-lifers how to dialogue about abortion, warned in a Sunday statement that defeating Harris will "not be a cake walk."
The author of The Case for Life argued that many Americans agree more with Harris than conservatives on several issues, including voter registration and worldview.
"The economy alone won't beat her. Her inability to escape word salads and say anything that is remotely coherent won't beat her. Her refusal to address the border won't beat her," Klusendorf stated.

"Recall the 2022 midterms? She will primarily run on abortion, which is a winning issue for her. And it will resonate for many citizens convinced that if they do not have a right to kill their own offspring, they have no rights at all."
"Call it foolish, and it is, but it resonates with many," he concluded. "Don't confuse a desire for Joe to go with a vote for Trump and the GOP."
Klusendorf advised Republicans to "get smart" about the abortion issue, predicting that they are about to be "grilled" on their positions."
The LTI president highlighted the GOP's revised platform on abortion, noting that it does not give him much hope that Republicans will be up to the challenge.
Earlier this month, the 2024 Republican Convention Platform Committee voted 84 to 18 in favor of the proposed platform during a closed-door session. The proposed party platform, backed by Trump, softened the GOP's language on abortion and same-sex marriage. The move sparked criticism from various pro-life leaders and organizations.
"Hold on, it's about to get bumpy," Klusendorf wrote.
