Disney's Movie Streaming, Download Service to Add Fox, Sony, Universal Films and Warner Bros.
Users on Disney's Movies Anywhere digital download service just got entire libraries of films opened up to them. It's been confirmed that 20th Century Fox, Warner Bros., Sony Pictures, and Universal Pictures have all agreed to let their content stream on the joint streaming service by Disney and Google.
These major Hollywood movie studios have finally agreed to sign up for the Disney-led Movies Anywhere service, a platform that lets users buy and store movies in an online account to stream later on their devices, according to Bloomberg.
Efforts by Disney to get these studios onboard since last year has finally come down to this deal, which greatly expands the library of content now available to users of the service. More details are to be officially announced by this week, according to sources.

Consumers can buy movies via digital purchase from Google Play, Amazon Video, iTunes and Vudu, which they can store in the Movies Anywhere app as a kind of digital locker for their online content.
They can then launch the service on their mobile devices and view the content as a digital stream. An ongoing promo also lets new users who activate their account with supported digital retailers to get free copies of "Ice Age" and the 2016 "Ghostbusters" remake for free, according to Digital Trends.
Linking two or more accounts to the app also nets users free copies of "Big Hero 6," "Jason Bourne," and "The Lego Movie" as well.
Disney's new app, which is set to replace the old Disney Anywhere service, is now available on iOS, Android, Amazon Fire, Chromecast, Sony smart televisions, and popular web browsers. Users can also move over any licensed movies they own online to the new app as well, according to Google.
The Disney Movies Anywhere lets users stream their favorite movies on their mobile device. The new Movies Anywhere now boasts more than 7,300 titles in its catalog after this deal.
