'Dissidia Final Fantasy NT' News: Devs Not Thinking About Other Platforms Currently, Still Focused on the PS4

'Dissidia Final Fantasy NT' will be released for the PS4 on Jan. 30

"Dissidia Final Fantasy NT" is coming early next year to the PlayStation 4, and it looks like that platform and the higher-powered PS4 Pro will be the only consoles the game will call home for the foreseeable future.

The folks over at DualShockers were able to chat with director Takeo Kujiraoka and producer Ichiro Hazama about the fighting game during Gamescom.

Among the questions the developers answered during that interview was one related to the brawler's future in terms of which other platforms may support it.

According to Hazama, the subject of other platforms is not one they are thinking about currently. Instead, the focus right now is on getting the PS4 version right.

It seems like additional homes for the fighting game may only be considered once the PS4 version is released. So even if it is eventually announced for the PC, Xbox One or perhaps the Nintendo Switch, such revelations may be a ways away if they are made at all.

"Dissidia Final Fantasy NT" will allow players to choose from a roster made up of "Final Fantasy" characters and get into action-packed bouts. Playable characters can be classified under four categories and players will have to figure out which ones work best for them.

Among the characters confirmed for the game are "Final Fantasy 7's" Cloud Strife and Sephiroth who are both Vanguards. Squall Leonhart, Zidane Tribal and Tidus, the protagonists of "Final Fantasy 8," "Final Fantasy 9" and "Final Fantasy 10" respectively, are featured as Assassins.

Marksman-type characters like Terra Branford and Kefka Palazzo from "Final Fantasy 6" are included, and "Final Fantasy 12's" Vaan is one of the game's Specialists.

There will also be powerful Summons that players can call on during battles, with Bahamut and Odin among them.

"Dissidia Final Fantasy NT" will be made available to fans in North America on Jan. 30, 2018.
