'Divinity: Original Sin 2' Reviews: New Role Playing Game Earns Top Marks

"Divinity: Original Sin 2" came out two weeks ago on Thursday, Sep.14. However, full reviews for the game are only coming out online now. It seems that the new world created by Larian Studios was so large and detailed that it took some time for critics to even begin to cover what it has to offer.

Tabletop roleplaying veterans have much to celebrate with the launch of "Divinity: Original Sin 2," as reviewed by PC Gamer who called the game "the best tabletop RPG," minus the table. Not only is the world of Rivellon vast and extremely detailed, players can also work together in co-op mode to explore the new story of the brewing war between Sourcerers, Magisters, gods and the void.

When that is done and dusted, the "Divinity" community can also look forward to a flood of user-submitted content, thanks to the powerful Game Master mode that Larian Studios have added to the game. Players can expect recreations of classic "Dungeons and Dragons" campaigns to begin popping up soon.

Gamespot, meanwhile, has awarded the new title the rare 10 out of 10 in their review, denoting it as an "Essential" classic for people who enjoy party-based role-playing games. This puts the new game from Larian Studios, an indie outfit, on par with titles like "The Witcher 3," "Metal Gear Solid V," and "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild."

Overall, early reviews of "Divinity: Original Sin 2" have presented impressive scores across the board, with the game earning a score of 95 on Metacritic from unanimously impressed critics. Users also agree, giving the game a generous 8.9 out of 10, which speaks of "Generally favorable reviews" from 518 raters.

This score also puts "Divinity: Original Sin 2" at the first spot, in terms of ratings, for current PC games, as sorted by Metascore on the review aggregation site.
