DJ Khaled Proposes to Nicki Minaj in Strange MTV Video Message (VIDEO)
Hip-hop music executive DJ Khaled appeared on MTV with a diamond ring in hand and proposed to rapper Nicki Minaj.
"I want to be honest with you. I love you. I like you. I want you. I want you to be mine," he said on the MTV video message while elevator music played in the background.
"The only reason I'm not telling you this face to face is because I know that you're busy...You need a man like me in your life that's gonna take care of you and respect you," he said. "You gotta take your time and think about it, I understand... but I know I have to be here today to let you know how serious I am and about how serious this is to me."
"I want to let your fans know, my fans know, my family, your family, that I wanna marry you. I been working hard to get this ring... Nicki Minaj... will you marry me?" he continued.
Khaled had a 10 karat ring estimated to be worth $500,000 according to reports by MTV.
"We got the same symptoms, we both suffer from success. You're out there touring, you're out there hustling, you out there making music, you out there winning. I understand. That's why you need a guy like me in your life," he kept going.
Minaj and Khaled are both on the Young Money label, which is owned by Lil Wayne's adoptive father, Bird Man.
The female rapper and the DJ recently worked together on the track, "Twerk It," by Busta Rhymes.
It is believed that Minaj is currently dating someone, and the music world is speculating this is all just a publicity stunt for his new album that is coming soon.
The video wrapped up with, "Your move, Nicki."
