DMX Performs, Shoots Hoops With Injured Soldiers
DMX has continued his streak of good behavior, recently playing a show for injured soldiers in San Antonio and visiting troops near Fort Sam.
After the concert, which was held last Thursday, a fan asked the rapper if he would be willing to visit soldiers near Fort Sam – to which he agreed. On Friday, DMX visited and played wheelchair basketball with the wounded soldiers.
"It made my day as much as it did their day. One told me that I gave him the best early Christmas gift he ever got and that has me still smiling," he told TMZ.

Just last month, the hip-hop legend was seen lending a hand to an employee at a South Carolina Waffle House by mopping the floor.
Just days before that incident, DMX appeared on Dr. Drew's new show, "Dr. Drew's Lifechangers," where he performed "Keep Ya Head Up." He also met with a troubled young man to give him advice and help him get over abuse and crime.
The rapper, who's real name is Earl Simmons, could relate as he has been in and out of jail for the past 10 years.
The rapper claimed he had beaten a decade of drug addiction since his release from jail, and discussed the addiction and sobriety along with his past of abuse from his mother on the show.
DMX said his relationship with God got him out of his rut. "I am on a spiritual road to do right in my life. I am leaving out all negativity and going to stay on the right road to positive," he stated.
This positive attitude and newfound faith has propelled the rapper to seek change, and he now feels that his true life calling is to be a pastor.
"When [DMX] first came to my church he looked broken, sad, and full of struggle. Now you see a dramatic change. You see that the drugs and alcohol aren’t in his life," said DMX's pastor to TMZ about the rapper’s transformation.
"[The time in jail] has gotten me closer ... to realizing, to actualizing my true calling in life, which is to be a pastor," DMX told Fox 10 News in 2009, while serving time in Maricopa County Jail in Phoenix.
He hopes to eventually launch a television program about how he can reach people for Jesus due to his fame.
For those who say DMX cannot be Christian because of his lyrics he claims, "It's just slick talk; it's not something to be taken literally. Evidently, if I was doing that, I wouldn't be rapping. It's word play, poetry.”
According to DMZ, he will put one gospel song on every album produced.
"What it boils down to, and it always boils down to, is a gospel song and a prayer,” DMX said to FOX. “Every album I ended with a gospel song and a prayer.”
