DMX To Appear On Dr. Phil
Earl "DMX" Simmons, the 42-year-old rapper, will appear on The Dr. Phil show, weeks after being caught running around a Detroit, Mich hotel room in the nude.
DMX will sit with clinical psychologist turned talk show host Phil McGraw for an hour long interview. The rapper will speak about various aspects of his life including God which will be taped on Sept. 16, according to AllHipHop.com reports.
DMX has made headlines recently for streaking in a hotel hallway, an act that was picked up by security cameras in the facility. However, the rapper's publicist explained his actions.
"DMX was in a Detroit hotel with his DJ (DJ NonStop) and his road manager (Montana) before his performance with Eve and Lil Kim on August 31," the rapper's publicist said in a statement, according to greenvilleonline.com. "X and the team were killing time at the hotel before the concert and dared each other to streak in the hallway. No one was aware that security cameras were rolling and it was just a playful dare between friends."
Last month, the rapper also made headlines for a number of arrests. He was arrested in South Carolina last month while seated in the passenger side of a vehicle that was initially stopped for a traffic violation.
DMX was riding in a Ford F-350 truck driven by his assistant Anitra Rhodes, 39, who reportedly illegally changed lanes, CNN reports. Although the pair were initially stopped for the traffic violation, officers reportedly searched the car after recognizing the rapper from an outstanding warrant and allegedly spotting marijuana in the passenger side of the door in the vehicle.
The arrest took place in Greer, S.C., one month after the rapper was arrested in Greenville, S.C. for drunk driving. Earlier this year, DMX appeared on the second season premiere of OWN's "Iyanla: Fix My Life."
Despite the fact that DMX spoke out about the show after he filmed with spiritual counselor Iyanla Vanzant, she took to her Twitter to call for prayer and support from the rapper's fans.
"What if the only way God could get DMX's attention was to use us, his fans and family to say brother we need & want you clean," Vanzant said on Twitter in a series of tweets about the rapper after the episode of "Fix My Life."
