DMX's 9/11 Album 'Undisputed' to Benefit Victims' Families

DMX, 41-year-old rapper born Earl Simmons, is gearing up to release his seventh studio album on Sept. 11 that will generate proceeds for victims of the tragedy that took place 11 years ago.

Domenick Nati, the rapper's publicist, told SOHH.com that Simmons' first week album sales will be donated to the family members of Sept. 11 victims on the anniversary of the World Trade Center buildings being demolished by airplanes in a terrorist act. However, Nati said fans should appreciate the album for more than the donations that will be generated from it, but for the quality music.

"Fans will be pleasantly surprised with this album. DMX has really put a lot into this project and used a variety of talented producers, like Dame Grease, Caviar, Divine Bars, and Swizz Beatz," Nati told SOHH. "X is back doing what he loves to do, performing live and making hit records."

Fans seemed to support the rapper and his decision to release his album on such a controversial date.

"@DMX will be the first CD I purchased in years," one fan wrote on Twitter.

Another fan seemed just as anxious for DMX's studio album release, and spoke about praying for the rapper.

"@DMX I cant wait, man.I love you, and always pray for you," the person tweeted. "I will buy it and do everything to make my friends buy it too. God bless you!!"

Although the rapper has battled publicly with addiction and gotten into trouble with the law, he has managed to turn his life around while gearing up for his first studio release in six years titled "Undisputed." Last year, the rapper spoke about being on a spiritual journey.

"I am on a spiritual road to do right in my life," the rapper told TMZ last year. "I am leaving out all negativity and going to stay on the right road to positive."
