Dolly Parton Injured In Car Accident, 'All Good' Now
Dolly Parton was involved in a "fender bender" that left her with minor injuries on Monday.
Fortunately, the country music idol updated fans on Twitter that she was doing well.
"I was in a fender bender this morning here in Nashville, but I am all good," Parton posted. "Just a little tired and sore. Resting at home now!"
The 67-year-old "Jolene" singer paid a brief visit to the hospital after the accident, which occurred around noon when another car hit her SUV Parton was riding in, according to the Associated Press.
Meanwhile, Parton recently made headlines over her unexpected rap performance on "The Queen Latifah Show" in which she referred to her famous goddaughter, Miley Cyrus.
"Hey Miley, I've got your wrecking balls right here," said the singer, drawing attention to her famed bosom.
The legendary singer also mentioned "twerking," the dance move which Cyrus recently made famous during her MTV VMA's performance.
Nevertheless, Parton's rap routine also included lyrics that she was "the queen of Dollywood." Dollywood is Parton's eponymous theme park which she opened in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee 28 years ago. In August, the singer announced a nearly $300 million expansion to Dollywood, which will include brand new attractions and a luxury hotel.
A 300-room luxury hotel, the DreamMore Resort, will be open for business at Dollywood in 2015. The resort will see lemonade offered to guests in the lobby during the summer months, while during winter, guests can enjoy mugs of hot chocolate, according to ABC News.
Furthermore, additional rides such as a rollercoaster called the Fire Chaser Express will open at the park in the coming months.
"We're basically 100 per cent tourism," explained Leon Downey from the Pigeon Forge Department of Tourism. "It's the only industry we have. Every year Dollywood has a new announcement, but this one is so big it dwarfs all the others."
