Don Moen Company Adds to Growth with Creation of Radio Division

The new entrepreneurial venture of award-winning Christian recording artist Don Moen has announced the formation of a new radio division and a strategic partnership with two Christian radio luminaries who have been noted for their significant impact on the growth of the Christian music radio industry.

"I have always felt that radio would play a key part in allowing me to communicate a much needed message of hope, comfort and encouragement to a hurting world," stated Moen in the announcement Wednesday of the Don Moen Company's latest development. "I can think of no better partners to have in this endeavor than Joe Battaglia and John Frost."

Both Battaglia and Frost are well-known leaders in the Christian Radio Industry, having both been recipients of the Scott Campbell Industry Achievement Award, a yearly award given by the Gospel Music Association (GMA) and Christian Music Broadcasters (CMB) to individuals who have made a significant impact on the growth of the Christian music radio industry.

Aside from the award, Battaglia has served on both the boards of both the GMA and the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB), as well as 14 years as chairman of the Steering Committee for the CMB, a division then known as the National Christian Radio Seminar.

Frost, meanwhile, has been recognized for his work in the creation and development of some of America's most successful Christian music stations. Recently named by R & R as one of the "Most Influential" people in Christian music, Frost "is a driving force behind the dramatic growth of Christian music radio," the Moen Company noted.

In a joint statement, Battaglia and Frost said it is "not only a privilege but an answer to prayer" to be working with Moen to create a show that will have broad appeal among Christian radio listeners.

"We are especially excited to tap Don's unique ability to transcend age, denomination, ethnicity and nationality in bringing Christians together," they added.

It has only been about seven months since Moen announced the formation of the Don Moen Company, which Moen hopes to use to provide resources for the Church, especially in the area of worship, and communicate Kingdom values to the culture at large.

"Our vision is to build a progressive enterprise that fully utilizes Don's strengths as a mentor, visionary leader and product creator— in the U.S. and around the world," explained Moen Company President and CEO Chris Long.

"We intend to partner with organizations and leaders that have a passion for God's Kingdom," he added before the company's first major acquisition.

Last month, the Don Moen Company purchased WorshipMusic.com, a worship resource website; WorshipTeam.com, an online center for worship planning and the digital delivery of worship resources; and PopularChristian.com, a discount Christian retail website.

The company also acquired MediaComplete, a market leader in media presentation software for the Church, less than one month after Moen launched his new entrepreneurial venture in July.

Commenting on the new radio division, Long said radio is "the perfect medium for Don's message of hope, comfort and encouragement, particularly in the current economic climate we are going through."

"We are also grateful to have David Senes, former national program director for the WAY-FM Network, join the team in the role of series producer, and WOW brand manager Scott Hughes as chief strategist to develop live event, direct marketing and private brand synergies," he added.

The radio division, which will produce a syndicated Sunday morning drive time radio show hosted by Moen, plans to launch the first three-hour show in the second quarter of this year. According to the company, the new organization's first production will feature new and classic worship music, interviews with leading musical artists, pastors and Christian leaders, as well as testimonies of how God is working around the globe.

The division is currently inviting stations interested in carrying the show and potential advertisers to contact them.
