'Doom' Multiplayer Unveiled at QuakeCon, Alpha Coming Soon

Attendees at this year's QuakeCon will be treated to a hands-on experience with "Doom's" multiplayer gameplay according to reports. The game "Doom" is one of the most awaited games today. The game does not have a definite release date yet, and the upcoming game is a reboot of the first-person shooter game that first came out in 1993.

The first game was considered a cult classic and in fact is said to have influenced the first-person shooter genre of video games throughout the years. The original game was set in a science fiction world with a horror theme.

The upcoming game is also being developed by the original game developer, id Software. It was officially revealed during the E3 2015 but it will be at the QuakeCon 2015 where attendees can play the game's multiplayer mode for the first time.

An IGN report about a hands-on experience with the game described many new weapons at the disposal of the players that are basically very "creative ways" of killing people, according to GameSpot. Despite the limited build, the game also showed off some of the power-ups that were available – such as Quad Damage, Invisibility and the Demon, among others.

Gamers who were not able to attend QuakeCon still have some chance to play the alpha provided they pre-order the "Wolfenstein: The New Order" game. The game developer said that they will be conducting an alpha "soon" and will pick a select group of gamers to take part. They will be picking this alpha test group from a bigger pool of beta testers who have already pre-registered after getting their keys generated from their "Wolfenstein" pre-order.

At the E3 2015, publisher Bethesda showed off the game's single player component, displaying the usual gore and violence that the game is known for. The game will be undergoing a beta test sometime early 2016, right before its release in spring 2016.
