'DOOM' on Nintendo Switch Is 'Visually Stunning,' More Details About How It Performs Revealed
'DOOM' will run at 30 fps on the Switch
"DOOM" will blast its way to the Nintendo Switch next month. And for those first-person shooter fans who are curious about how this new version of the game will perform, the developers have provided some more information.
New details about the game were recently provided by creative director Hugo Martin and executive producer Marty Stratton.
After talking about the features that players can expect to see from the Switch version of the game, the two developers then dove into how it would perform on its new home.
According to the developers, the experience of the game has been "tailored" to the Switch and its features have not been watered down as well.
Now, since the Switch does not possess the same kind of processing power as its current-gen counterparts, there were still some compromises that had to be made.
For instance, developers looked to hit 30 frames-per-second for this version of "DOOM" because it was a target they could "confidently" reach. They also noted that fans can still expect the same kind of fast-paced action from the game.
Developers also described the new version of the game as "visually stunning."
Additional details about the expectations for "DOOM" on its new home were provided previously by Bethesda.
Speaking to USGamer, a Bethesda spokesperson shared that the "graphics won't be 1:1 with other platforms," though fans can still expect the new version to retain the essence of this particular title.
Bethesda also told Glixel previously that the single player and arcade mode components of the game are included in a 16GB cartridge, but the multiplayer offering is something that has to be downloaded after purchase. The multiplayer component will be a 9GB download.
"DOOM" will be officially released for the Nintendo Switch on Nov. 10, though more news about it should be made available before then.
