'Doom' to Release in November on Nintendo Switch

Nintendo Switch owners have another game to look forward to in November.

It has been announced that "Doom" will be arriving on the hybrid console on Nov. 10. In addition to that, Nintendo has released an exclusive interview with id Software creative director Hugo Martin and executive producer Marty Stratton.

In the interview, Martin and Stratton revealed what fans can expect from the Nintendo Switch version of the game. They also explained that both old fans and new will be happy with it.

"It's kind of an Arcadia experience," Martin said. "Our mantra when we were developing it was to remove is, really, all the barriers between the player and the combat."

"Nintendo Switch fans can look forward to getting the entire campaign – all of the difficulty modes, including ultra nightmare mode, which is a really fun way to play the game using only one light," Stratton added.

He also revealed that Nintendo Switch players will also be able to choose the arcade mode, which has more time and a score attack focus on the whole game. Additionally, players can expect multiplayer modes like team deathmatch and capture the flag. There are also 18 maps to look forward to, as well as DLCs that have already been released in the past.

Martin did warn that "Doom" is "not a narrative-heavy game," though he did add that it will still include some story. However, players who mostly focus on the violence and action of games will enjoy the game the most.

For fans who are worried that "Doom" will be quite different on the Nintendo Switch, fear not. In September, the game was previewed on the hybrid console and, according to IGN, it is still pretty much the same.

"It was hard for me to tell what, if anything, was scaled down when playing undocked," IGN's Tom Marks said in his review.
