'Downton Abbey' Season 6 Recap: A Heartbreaking Tradegy
With only a few more episodes until the series finale of the series "Downton Abbey," fans witnessed a tragedy that led to a broken heart.
The previous episode of "Downton Abbey" showed Mary, played by Michelle Dockery, attending Henry's, played by Matthew Goode, race. While fans were expecting the worse and assuming that Henry will see his end in the episode, it was revealed that Henry's teammate, Charlie Rogers, played by Sebastian Dunn, had crashed during the race. This accident led to his death, which left Henry shocked and stunned.
This brought some drama between Henry and Mary. It gave the two a reason to look forward into their relationship, trying to figure out if they are prepared to face a life of danger. However, it was apparent that Mary was not prepared to lead that life, since she told him that they could not be together anymore.
On the other hand, another relationship experienced a happy moment in the past episode. The episode showed Bertie Pelham, played by Harry Hadden-Paton, proposing to Edith, played by Laura Carmichael. While she was set to agree, she did not accept it right away since she knows that there are some secrets she has to share before accepting his proposal for marriage.
Meanwhile, it was revealed that Lord Grantham, who is played by Hugh Bonneville, was seen receiving a puppy from his mother, played by Maggie Smith. This was to make up for the fact that she was leaving to South France.
She did not leave without causing a scene with Amelia, played by Phoebe Sparrow. She was seen saying, "You want a free nurse to take a tiresome old man off your hands. You're a cool little miss, aren't you? I'd feel sorrier for Larry if I didn't dislike him so much."
"Downton Abbey" season 6 airs every Sunday.
