Dr Phil Reveals Details About Interview With Casey Anthony's Parents

In preparation for the airing of his exclusive interview with Casey Anthony’s family set to premiere on Tuesday, Dr. Phil McGraw spoke to the ladies of “The View” about what viewers can expect.

McGraw said George and Cindy Anthony seemed unwilling to appoint responsibility for their granddaughter’s death.

“She seems to make an excuse at every turn,” McGraw said of Cindy Anthony’s responses on “The View” Monday morning. “Very much in denial.”

McGraw said the exclusive interview with the Anthonys came about after they realized he told protesters to leave their home.

“They remembered that,” McGraw told the hosts on “The View.”

After their daughter was acquitted of murder charges in a trial for their granddaughter’s death, “The View” host Barbara Walters said the Anthony’s were “the couple all of America wants to hear.”

However, the Anthony parents had different opinions about what happened to their granddaughter Caylee, according to McGraw.

“They have a very different view of that. He is very critical. She seems to make an excuse at every turn,” McGraw said, according to ABC News. “They question themselves every minute of every day. What did we fail to see? What could we have done differently?”

McGraw previewed a few clips on “The View,” in which the Anthony parents were questioned about whether they believed Casey had hidden her dead daughter in the trunk of her car.

“Do I want to believe that Caylee was back there? I don’t want to believe it, but I’m going by what investigators have told me,” George Anthony said in the interview with McGraw. “All I know is that Caylee is not with us anymore.”

McGraw said he believed people who watch the exclusive interview will get a different perspective about the Anthonys.

“I think it will change people’s view, whether they like them before or didn’t,” McGraw told the ladies of “The View.”

The interview will air at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, with a second part set to air Wednesday and a part three on Monday Sept 19.
