Dr Phil Show: Casey Anthony Mother Explains About Daughter's Seizures
Cindy Anthony, the mother of Casey Anthony, has claimed in a television interview with “Dr. Phil” that her daughter has a history of seizures. However, she says she is not sure whether the condition has anything to do with the disappearance and death of her granddaughter, two-year old Caylee Anthony.
Caylee Anthony is Casey’s young daughter, who the mother initially claimed was taken by a babysitter. The 25-year old mother maintained this story to her family until the remains of the child were found in a secluded and wooded area near the Anthony family home in December 2008.
Cindy Anthony said in the interview that Casey has seizures in 2007 and the following year following her initial arrest.
She also told Dr. Phil that she is unsure if her daughter’s seizures contributed to Casey’s lying about her daughter’s whereabouts in 2008.
During Anthony’s trial for murder, defense attorneys asked the judge to have doctors examine whether she was mentally fit to undergo the trial. However, three experts ruled her mentally fit so the trial proceeded.
Casey Anthony was acquitted of the murder of her daughter in July, but was convicted of lying to authorities.
Currently, Casey Anthony is serving probation somewhere in Florida on a separate check fraud conviction.
The decision of the jury has caused a national uproar. Her whereabouts is being kept private for her safety.
