'Dragon Ball FighterZ' News: More Story Mode Details Shared, Familiar Heroes and Villains May Be Teaming Up
Upcoming game's Story Mode will be divided into three scenarios
"Dragon Ball FighterZ" will feature its own unique storyline, and it seems like a kind of tale that may be changing how certain characters in the "Dragon Ball" universe are portrayed.
Just recently, a new Japanese trailer released for the upcoming fighting game revealed more about its different features as well as its Story Mode.
At one point in the trailer, the moments before a battle were shown. Interestingly enough, this first gameplay snippet featured Goku and Krillin – two of the long-time heroes in the series – lining up with Cell, Frieza and Nappa. The latter three were characters who had threatened the safety of Earth previously.
A second snippet of gameplay featured Goku and Krillin seemingly coming to the aid of a knocked out Majin Buu, who was another one of the most formidable foes to ever endanger the world.
One more snippet highlighted Frieza seemingly leading the charge against an unseen opponent with Krillin, Vegeta, Goku, Piccolo and even Cell behind him
It seems like the heroes and villains are banding together to take on clones of themselves that feature an almost zombie-like quality.
If the long-time heroes and villains of the "Dragon Ball" universe really are going to be working together even just temporarily in "Dragon Ball FighterZ," then fans may become more interested in the game's Story Mode.
Interestingly enough, the Story Mode trailer with English subtitles does not include the first and second gameplay snippets described earlier. Only the one featuring Frieza was retained.
Android 21, the original character created for this game specifically, also seems to have an important role in the story, and she may even be one of the main villains.
It was revealed previously that the game's Story Mode was divided into three different scenarios.
The folks over at Shonengamez.com translated details about the game that were included in a recent issue of V-Jump, and apparently, the three scenarios will feature players being linked to Goku, Android 18 and Frieza.
The scenario involving Goku is expected to be the main storyline, though the ones featuring Android 18 and Frieza may contain some interesting revelations too.
Fighting game fans should be able to hear more about "Dragon Ball FighterZ's" Story Mode sometime soon, and the game itself is due out on Jan. 26.
