'Dragon Ball FighterZ' News: Nappa and Ginyu Confirmed as Roster Members, Both Will Be Able to Summon Allies
Nappa's and Ginyu's special attacks also revealed
Two new characters have just been confirmed for "Dragon Ball FighterZ," and they are ones who fans may remember from the earlier days of the series.
Nappa and Ginyu were officially revealed as roster members in the latest issue of V-Jump, Gematsu reported.
Beginning with Nappa, fans of the series may remember him for being the man who accompanied Vegeta during the latter's journey to Earth.
Nappa did not hang around for that long in the anime. But now, fighting game fans will be able to get to know him better.
In the game, Nappa will be able to use the special attack known as "Kappa," and this move involves him firing off an immensely powerful beam of energy directly from his mouth and towards his enemy. The move has the ability to pierce an enemy's defense, so it has the potential to be very useful inside the game.
Along with "Kappa," Nappa can also call upon Saibamen to help him in battle. It looks like the Saibamen will work similarly to other cameo roles that can aid other characters in "Dragon Ball FighterZ."
Moving on now to Ginyu, he too will be able to summon allies during battle, and the ones who can help him are the members of the Ginyu Force. Including Ginyu himself, the Ginyu Force is made up of five members, with the others being Burter, Guldo, Jeice and Recoome.
It is unclear if Ginyu will be able to call on all four of his allies during a fight as the magazine only showed Recoome helping him out.
Ginyu can be a formidable opponent on his own as well, and even more so when he uses his "Body Change" technique. It will be interesting to see how the developers choose to implement Ginyu's trademark technique in the fighting game.
V-Jump also revealed that the game is due out in Japan on Feb. 1, though a western release date was not provided.
More news about "Dragon Ball FighterZ" should be made available soon.
