'Dragon Ball FighterZ' Rumors: Android 21 Really Could Be the Game's Main Antagonist
New theory even hinting that Android 21 may have a different form
"Dragon Ball FighterZ" will feature its own story, and from what has been revealed thus far, this story will involve some zombie-like clones threatening familiar heroes and villains of the series alike. There are questions, of course, which are still present with regards to the game's story, and many of them are related to one character in particular - Android 21.
Android 21's introduction and the gradual reveals about her background have intrigued fans.
She is an entirely new character, and fans are likely going to wonder about what she is actually about and why she has been added.
One thing that seems to be clear about Android 21 is that she will have an important role in "Dragon Ball FighterZ's" story. And now, some new rumors are even hinting that she may end up as the main villain of the game.
Recently, the folks from Shonengamez.com published a new video that highlighted several instances included in official trailers that seemingly hinted at Android 21's powers. Based on these events, it does not really seem that she is using her abilities for a good cause.
The website also drew attention to something included in a different trailer.
A character who looked like she could be a female version of Majin Buu appeared very quickly in the trailer, and the website theorized that this mysterious being could be none other than a different version of Android 21.
The original Majin Buu is well-known for being on the voracious side, so it makes sense that a female version of that character would be too. It just so happens that at one point in the English trailer for the game, Android 21 wondered aloud about how "tasty" some characters will be.
One more reason to suspect that Android 21 could have a different form that possesses great power is that she is - as producer Tomoko Hiroki told Game Informer - "a scientist of the Red Ribbon Army."
The Red Ribbon Army has of course been a thorn in Goku's side for a very long time.
Could a transforming Android 21 with roots in the Red Ribbon Army be the main villain of the upcoming fighting game? That has not been confirmed, though there are certainly signs hinting at that possibility.
"Dragon Ball FighterZ" is set to be released on Jan. 26.
