'Dragon Ball FighterZ' Rumors: Which Characters Will Be Included in the 'FighterZ Pass?'

'FighterZ Pass' will give players access to eight who are set to arrive post-launch

Developers finally gave "Dragon Ball FighterZ" an exact release date just recently, and they announced something else that fighting game fans may want to know about as well.

Following in the footsteps of several other games released in recent years, "FighterZ" is also getting a downloadable content pass.

To be more specific, the upcoming game is getting the "FighterZ Pass." The pass will grant players access to eight additional characters post-launch who will arrive together with their own alternate colors, lobby avatars and stamps.

Developers have yet to offer any clues hinting at who those additional eight characters could be, but that has not prevented fans from coming up with their own guesses.

Over on Reddit, some fans have suggested that perhaps more versions of Goku could be added as DLC. The current roster of "Dragon Ball FighterZ" already features the version of Goku fans know and love, and an early unlock for the Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan variant of this familiar character is also being offered as a pre-order bonus.

It remains to be seen if developers are open to the idea of adding even more Goku variants beyond those two that are already confirmed.

Another character that some fans would like to see introduced as a DLC addition is Gotenks. Gotenks is a character who came about as the result of Goten and the younger version of Trunks successfully performing the fusion technique. Since both Goten and kid Trunks are not in the game just yet, adding Gotenks as a DLC could make up for those absences in some way.

Some fans are also predicting and wishing that characters from "Dragon Ball Super" be included as DLC. It would not be all that surprising if the developers did indeed decide to do this, especially since it could be a good way to promote both the game and the show.

For now, fans are just going to have to wait for the developers to announce the names of the eight DLC characters included in the "FighterZ Pass," and if they like those roster additions, they can then purchase the pack for $34.99.

"Dragon Ball FighterZ" is set to be released on Jan. 26.
