The episode began with Vegeta became angered after Beerus slapped his wife Bulma. His rage gave him a sudden burst of power that enabled him to go jnto Super Saiyan mode.

Beerus also had a disappointment of his own because he still has not encountered the "Super Saiyan God," which led him to threaten to explode the Earth. Beerus had came down to Earth to fight with the Super Saiyan God. However, his stay on Earth did not prove to be worthwhile.

Fans were frustrated with the episode since it was very much like the scene from "Battle of the Gods." There were complaints stating that the writers are found recycling old material and unneccesarily prolonging the story.

This was not the first time that the anime series Dragon Ball Super disappointed fans. There were previous complaints about the show's animation. The series was criticized as presenting animation that was created by amateurs.

Conversely, the lead animator responded by stating that the animators are overworked, thus leading to unsatisfactory results. Nevertheless, having been the first new Dragon Ball series since 18 months, fans were holding high expectations. It will depend on the rest of the episodes if the series can sustain a few more season.

Dragon Ball Super episode 9 is titled "Sorry About the Wait, Beerus-sama - Finally, Super Saiyan God is Born!" It will air on Sunday, Sept. 6, 2015.
