'Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2' News: Hero Colosseum Mode, Two Extra DLC Packs Coming This Autumn

New content for RPG "Dragon Ball Xenoverse" is coming to the game before the year ends. Bandai Namco confirmed the news on Friday, revealing that the game would get the new Hero Colosseum game mode for free this coming autumn.

According to the game developer, the additional content will introduce a completely new game mode — a story mode with a tactical figuring battle, where players can use the capsule toy versions of their favorite "Dragon Ball" characters when in strategic board game-like scenarios.

Bandai Namco released a new trailer for the new mode, showing that the Hero Colosseum will have its own story mode that is separate from the game itself. The game developer also announced that joining the new content are two extra downloadable content (DLC) packs for the Hero Colosseum mode, the Extra Pack 1, and Extra Pack 2 paid DLCs. These extra DLCs will reportedly introduce new characters and gameplay features.

The Extra Pack 1 will include Tapion, Android 13, and two new characters, while the Extra Pack 2 will introduce a new original character and a new scenario. Bandai Namco also teased that the second extra pack will feature a fresh way to interact with "Dragon Ball" characters in "Xenoverse 2" and will introduce an all-new form of Goku. According to reports, the Hero Colosseum update and Extra Pack 1 will be released in autumn, while the second pack does not have a release date yet.

In addition to the new content and two extra DLC packs, Bandai Namco also revealed that there is going to be a crossover between "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" and "Dragon Ball Fighter Z," which will feature special items for players who own both games.

"Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" is currently available on Xbox One, PS4, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
