Drake and The Game Donate $22,500 to Woman Who Lost 5 Children, Boyfriend in Fire
Rappers Drake and The Game have teamed up to help an Ohio mother who lost her five children and boyfriend in a horrible fire on Sunday. The two donated a total of $20,000 to Anna Angel to help cover the funeral costs and living expenses as she restarts her life.
"I can deal with a lot of things but people losing their children is something that kills me every time… I cannot imagine the feeling she had at that moment," The Game wrote on his Instagram account.
The mobile home fire broke out while Anna Angel was at work; it quickly spread throughout the home, killing Angel's boyfriend and five children, who were all under the age of six. Angel's four daughters: Tiara, Stormie, Trinitie and Sunshine were all laid to rest in a single casket just yesterday. Her youngest child, Domonic, was to be buried with his father, Timothy Fresch.
"Even though each of their candles have been extinguished, their light still shines, their flame still burns," Pastor Mark Boedker of First Lutheran Church said during the eulogy. "I know that all five of them are joined in heaven hand-in-hand and are skipping and laughing and being smiley."
Family and friends have come together in the small Tiffin, OH community to help support Angel as she gets back on her feet. They managed to raise $16,000 to help with expenses. Once Drake and The Game caught wind of the story, they pledged another $20,000 and also solicited $2,500 worth of donations from their companies.
After learning that Angel did not have a vehicle, an anonymous donor came forward to offer her a used car. A jar will be placed at the candlelight vigil scheduled for tonight and an account has been established at the local US Bank.
Anyone wishing to donate can do so to the Anna Angel Donation Fund c/o US Bank, 730 W. Market St., Tiffin, OH, 44883.
