Droid Razr Android 4.1, JellyBean Update Now Available
The Droid Razr Android 4.1, JellyBean update is now available for Verizon customers.
It is also available for the Droid Razr Maxx and can be accessed OTA (over-the-air).
It brings the Android 4.1.2 build of the software to both Motorola devices and comes with a slew of new features including the Project Butter UI and Google Now.
The updated Google Now lets users know what they will need for their day before they even ask. For example, if it's going to be a rainy day, the smartphone will inform the user and tell them to bring an umbrella. It will also redirect them on their routes to destinations in order to avoid heavy traffic caused by accidents and other issues. It will also provide them with the scores from their favorite sports teams from the previous night.
Voice Search will allow users to ask their device a question that will run a quick search and provide them with the best possible answer. It is similar to Apple's Siri.
The notification system will also be improved as it will be easier to multi-task on the device while the user is in the middle of a phone call. For example, if someone is in the middle of a call and receives a notification that they have a meeting, they can tap the reminder once and it will automatically send out an email that will let others know that they will be a few minutes late.
The Droid Razr HD Android 4.1, JellyBean Update is also available to Verizon users.
Motorola officially announced the upgrade at the beginning of this month, which is also available for the Droid Razr Maxx HD.
Android 4.1, JellyBean debuted at this year's Google I/O conference and was introduced on the Google Nexus 7 tablet.
