Duggar Family News: Amy Duggar Reveals Family Member Who Abused Her
Amy Duggar King recently revealed in reality show "Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars" the identity of her abuser. After refusing to open up about her difficulties growing up, the 27-year-old finally let out some details about her past.
People reports about an advance preview of the episode of "Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars" that will air this Friday. In the clip, Duggar finally reveals the identity of the family member who allegedly abused her physically.
"My dad was like, 'Amy, did you brush your teeth?' And I was like, 'Yeah daddy.' And he was like, 'No you didn't.' And he picked me up by my throat, all the way up to the ceiling. He was like, 'You will brush your teeth,'" says Amy. This is the first time the reality star has publicly identified her abuser.
Amy Duggar has been called the "problem niece" of "19 and Counting" star parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar.
Before this surprising reveal, some fans have jumped to the conclusion that she was referring to her husband Dillon King. After all, she did not provide specifics with her previous interview with People. Now, she has positively identified singer Terry Jordan as the one who picked her up by the throat, among other abuses.
"I've seen things thrown in the air. I've been called every name in the book. He tried to run me over with a car. It scared me out of my mind," she revealed.
Amy Duggar and Dillon King have been married not too long ago, having tied the knot last September 2015 in a picture-perfect Arkansas wedding ceremony. Unfortunately, their marital issues have come to the point that they were driven to counseling to save their marriage.
Jim and Elizabeth Carroll, a husband-and-wife counseling team, are joined by Dana Hamman and David Bishop in attempting to save troubled marriages in their reality show "Marriage Boot Camp."
