'DWTS' Semifinal Scores: Rob Kardashian Tops, Hope Solo Sinks

The four remaining couples on “Dancing with the Stars” have given their ninth performances and await another elimination Tuesday.

In a dramatic performance show, J.R. Martinez, Ricki Lake, Rob Kardashian, and Hope Solo returned to the ballroom to receive scores for three different dances. After injuries, insults, and exhaustion, the night’s scores proved surprising.

Ricki Lake and her partner Derek Hough, the second couple to have earned a perfect score during season 13, received 30 points for their samba.

“I can taste the finals,” said Lake, proud of her score.

Following her individual performances of the tango and cha-cha, Lake earned 67 points for the night.

Reality television star Rob Kardashian trailed shortly after Lake after he and his partner Cheryl Burke gave a lively performance of the samba.

“It’s my time to peak,” said Kardashian ahead of his performance, which earned him 28 points out of 30. His mom Kris Jenner, stepdad Bruce Jenner, sister Kourtney, and her baby, Mason, were there to all cheered him on.

Judge Bruno said, “You started out as a goofy outsider. Now you look like a leading man – slick, dark, handsome, in control.”

After his two individual performances, the 24-year-old’s total for the night was 65.

Finishing in third place, J.R. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff performed a paso doble. Usually top performers, the couple received 23 points – possibly due to Martinez suffering a twisted ankle last week.

The actor and war veteran then earned high scores for his individual performances, leaving him with a total of 56 points for the night.

At the bottom, Hope Solo and her partner Maks Chmerkovskiy earned 24 points after their paso doble.

Solo described a past shoulder injury, and said: “I’m in pain pretty much the entire time on the dance floor.”

Despite her pain, Solo’s performance of the tango earned her 24 points, and after adding four points for her cha cha – the soccer star garnered a total of 49 points for the night.

The ninth “DWTS” elimination will be announced during the Results Show on ABC at 9 p.m. EST.
