Dylan Farrow Open Letter: Woody Allen Sex Abuse Case Accuser Says, 'It Took All My Strength to Put Truth Out There'

Dylan Farrow has received a lot of backlash in the wake of her open letter to The New York Times, detailing what she says happened between her and her adoptive father Woody Allen. Now she is speaking out to address her critics and says she hopes that coming forward has helped at least one person.

"It took all of my strength and all of my emotional fortitude to do what I did this week in the hope that it would put the truth out there. That is my only ammunition. I don't have money or publicists or limos or fancy apartments in Manhattan. All I have is the truth and that is all I put out there," Farrow told People.

Farrow has received criticism from actress Cate Blanchett, actor Charlie Sheen, and even her own brother, Moses, who said that his sister was brainwashed by her mother, Mia. Moses came forward to defend Allen and adamantly said that nothing happened between Allen and Dylan. That, of course, comes in opposition to the stance taken by Dylan's other brother, Ronan, who has been one of her biggest supporters.

"People are saying that I am not actually remembering what I remember. People are saying my 'evil mother' brainwashed me because they refuse to believe that my sick, evil father would ever molest me, because we live in this society where victim blaming and inexcusable behavior – this taboo against shaming the famous at the expense of their victims – is accepted and excused," Dylan added.

Allen has denied any wrongdoing and said that he was disappointed in the accusations, which his representative said were "untrue and disgraceful."

Dylan, however, is standing strong in the wake of the criticism, in part due to the support she has from her mother and brother Ronan.

"After the Golden Globes, my brother Ronan showed immense bravery for standing up for the family and I realized it was my turn to stand up and to tell the truth," Dylan said. "I knew there were people saying I was a liar … but I didn't realize that it was going to be a betrayal of this magnitude."
