EA Celebrates Star Wars Day with 'Star Wars Battlefront' Free PC Trial
Electronic Arts has announced its plans on Wednesday, May 4, otherwise known as "Star Wars Day." EA has lined up a bunch of freebies for "Star Wars Battlefront" and a couple other "Star Wars" games.
The publisher will be offering those interested in "Star Wars Battlefront" but have yet to buy the game a chance to try it out. On May 4, EA will make the game free to play for PC gamers for four hours. The free trial starts at 11 a.m. PT through Origin. Players can get to experience the game's different maps, modes, and missions, though it won't include access to premium content like the Outer Rim DLC.
Several other EA games will also offer a free trial through Origin, too. These include "Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2" and "Unravel" with a 10-hour free trial, "The Sims 4" and "Titanfall" with a 2-day free trial, and "Battlefield 4" with a 7-day free trial.
Those interested in "Star Wars Battlefront" and the other games mentioned above can visit Origin.com for details.
Meanwhile, those who already own "Star Wars Battlefront" and log in on May 4 will be rewarded with 4,444 credits. These credits can be used to buy Star Cards, Hutt contracts, gear, skins, and more. Speaking of Hutt contracts, Jabba the Hutt will have a special challenge for players on Star Wars Day. The new contract costs 3,500 to 8,000 credits and unlocks the Bacta Bomb Star Card, which provides a health boost to players and their allies.
In addition to "Star Wars Battlefront," EA is also offering some goodies for "Star Wars: The Old Republic" and "Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes."
For "Star Wars: The Old Republic," players can try its Knights of the Fallen Empire expansion for free until May 30. This means they'll start with a new level 60 character to play Chapter 1: The Hunt. Simply logging into the game will also earn players rewards, including the M4-I6 Zakuulan Astromech Droid Mini-Pet until May 4 and double XP from May 3 to 10.
Meanwhile, "Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes" players will get double drop rates and 25 percent more crystals when they buy any available Crystal pack.
