EA Sports UFC 3 News: Game Publisher Confirms February 2018 Release
The EA Sports UFC series won't return until the first quarter of next year, but new details about the upcoming game are already making the rounds online. Earlier this week, the game publisher confirmed that the third edition of the series will be released on Feb. 2 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
According to EA, the new game will include a new mode called the G.O.A.T. Career Mode, which will help improve the gaming experience of players by allowing them to promote their individual bouts, come up with heated rivalries, and help fighters become some of mixed martial arts' best.
In the new career mode, the choices of players can build not only hype but also followership for their fighters, allowing them to land only the best fight contracts. EA Sports also revealed that with the new mode, players can now use a new in-game social media system to create rivalries with their opponents and virtually assume the persona of the fighting stars they create.
Aside from the new career mode, the upcoming edition will also feature two new multiplayer modes which are specially designed for quick but fun fights. These two modes are the "Stand & Bang" and "Submission Showdown," which go along with the Knockout Mode that was introduced in the previous edition of the game. Reports also suggest that the third edition will come in both Standard and Championship editions.
In a recent statement, EA Sports UFC 3 Creative Director Brian Hayes said, "'UFC 3' and 'RPM Tech' mark a new generation of gameplay in EA Sports games. The new animation technology has allowed us to take a massive leap forward in motion and responsiveness. The result is a complete overhaul to gameplay where every move is more strategic and looks more authentic and beautiful."
"UFC 3" will feature two-division UFC titleholder Conor McGregor on its cover. The game is set for release on Feb. 2, 2018.
