Easter 2016: Egg-Hunting Ideas for Indoor Easter Celebration

With the Easter holiday approaching, some may be running out of ideas to have a blast during one of the year's most celebrated holidays that sometimes has unpredictable weather conditions.

One of the biggest dilemmas that parents have when it comes to Easter is the rainy season. Spring can bring about unpredictable weather and sometimes, plans for outdoor egg-hunting get off the list.

For those who fear the weather might not be good for an outdoor activity, one suggestion is to put photos inside Easter eggs. The photos have clues of where the next eggs are hidden. The locations should be varied to bring out the excitement in children. By the end of the hunt, the child who gets the most number of eggs will be given more chocolates, as chocolates are always a part of the Easter festivities.

Egg-hunting at night is also a great way to celebrate the big holiday. Usually, parents place sweets inside the eggs but finding the eggs in the evening can be hard without creativity and the power of light. With the use of glow sticks and plastic eggs, children can go crazy even without the lights on.

To make the evening more enjoyable, place small glow sticks inside plastic eggs and hide them around the house. Finally, turn the lights off and allow the children to explore the entire house in search of the glowing eggs. The hunt will not only be fun for older kids but will also be make it easier for younger children to get involved in the search.

Visiting relatives can also enjoy indoor activities if the weather outside isn't suitable. With many children in the house, it is best to create a checklist for each child to make sure they get the same amount of eggs and to avoid fighting.

As for teenagers and adults in the family, treasure hunts with clues are the most recommended as they encourage imagination and concentration, as well as team work among the hunters. Rhyming clues are suggested by most people as they are much more fun to work with than direct instructions.
