'Elder Scrolls Online' DLC: 'Clockwork City' Map, Bosses, Trial and More Detailed, New PvP Mode for 'Morrowind' Owners Revealed
"Elder Scrolls Online" is about to get bigger with the release of the next downloadable content (DLC) called "Clockwork City," which is set for release this fall.
To be made available for free to ESO Plus members, the expansion will bring players to Sotha Sil's legendary creation in the form of a "mysterious" mechanical wonderland.
This new zone was first featured in the "Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind" expansion and the third installment in the "Elder Scrolls" series with the same subtitle.
However, per Bethesda Game Studios, the "Clockwork City" DLC will give players the chance to "explore it like never before" as they will be able to traverse its "strange and unique environment where the buildings, creatures, and even some of the inhabitants are complex mechanical constructs."
Brass Fortress serves as the central hub of the area. It is where merchants, crafting stations and "important" nonplayable characters (NPCs) are found. Beyond it, however, dangers such as a pair of new World Bosses creep around.
The "Elder Scrolls Online" DLC's featured location is also home to new Delves, standalone and daily quests that offers up hefty rewards and a new Trial called the Asylum Sanctorium, which can accommodate 12-player teams.
This "eerie clockwork sanitarium" involves a team playing against a trio of mechanical bosses. "Clockwork City" allows players to customize the speed and difficulty of the Trial by giving them the power to choose how and when to take on a boss.
Because of this, the rewards, which come in the form of powerful Asylum Weapons, will be distributed differently based on how gamers put the Trial together:
Dare you try to complete the Trial as quickly as possible and strike directly at the main boss? If you do, your team will have to deal with all three at the same time!
"Clockwork City" is also a way for players to peel another layer off the ongoing conspiracy and conflict between Daedric Princes, which was first glimpsed in "Morrowind" and the "Orsinium" DLC.
In service of this, players will be treated to an all-new stand-alone story that takes players to "the heart of the mechanical realm." This story will be the size of the main quest lines in "Dark Brotherhood" and "Thieves Guild."
Finally, the "Clockwork City" DLC will also introduce the Transmutation system, a new way for players to adjust the traits of their gear.
In addition to the "Elder Scrolls Online" DLC, Bethesda Game Studios will also roll out a new update containing fixes and tweaks for better gameplay experience for "Clockwork City" and the overall game.
More importantly, it will also add a new Battlegrounds game type called Crazy King, where players will have to take hold of a capture point location that jumps randomly around the map. It should be noted that "Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind" is required for it to be accessed.
