'Elementary' Season 5 Episode 14 Spoilers: Sherlock, Joan Go After a Pro Gamer Killer
Sherlock (Jonny Lee Miller) and Joan (Lucy Liu) will investigate the murder of a pro-gamer in the upcoming episode of "Elementary."
In the episode titled "Rekt in Real Life," the synopsis (via TV Guide) reveals that the consultants will be tapped to look for a killer who ended a former professional eSports video game player's life in front of his fans. The victim was doing a live video stream when someone came in and attacked him. The murder was witnessed by a lot of people who were tuned in, watching the show. Sherlock and Joan will meet with the CEO of the eSports franchise, a fast-talking businessman named Joey (James Kyson). They need to find the motive for the crime.
The promo shows Joan, Sherlock and Bell (Jon Michael Hill) processing the crime scene. Joan comments that the man's head wound is not consistent with the butt of the gun. Later on, the consultants are shown checking out something that looks like a pickaxe. When they investigate another place, a local police officer cannot help but comment on Sherlock's unique way of looking at things. Even Joan marvels at her partner's claim that the man died due to global warming. What could Sherlock mean by that?
Meanwhile, the episode will reveal more about Shinwell's (Nelsan Ellis) backstory. He actually has a teenage daughter and she wants to see him. Shinwell will ask for Joan's help again since he does not know what to do. After getting out of prison, he has not made any attempt to contact his family. He is determined to start anew and it means leaving his past behind. The spoilers report that a major revelation will put a wedge between him and his friends. Joan and Sherlock have done everything they can to help Shinwell. What kind of secret is he keeping that has the power to destroy relationships?
"Elementary" season 5 episode 14 will air on Sunday, Feb. 19, at 10 p.m. EST on CBS.
