'Elementary' Season 5 Episode 17 Spoilers: Shinwell to Deal With a Second Murder Charge?
Shinwell (Nelsan Ellis) will once again be involved in a murder case in the upcoming episode of "Elementary."
In the episode titled "The Ballad of Lady Frances," the synopsis (according to TV Guide) reveals that the ex-convict will be the target of a drive-by shooting. When Sherlock (Jonny Lee Miller) and Joan (Lucy Liu) investigate, they will find out that Shinwell is somehow connected to a murder that is still unsolved. Last time, he was being accused of killing a gang member. If Sherlock did not meddle with the evidence, Shinwell would have been sent back to prison. Will the consultants be able to save him this time around?
Shinwell has had a tough time lately after meeting with his daughter, Chivonne (Madai Chakell). She previously asked for his help in handling a determined gang member who was stalking her. Chivonne and Shinwell had not seen each other for five years. He was reluctant to meet her because he knew he had been a bad father. Although helping his daughter might affect his undercover mission, he still reached out and succeeded in keeping the persistent admirer away. Shinwell was hoping that Chivonne would forgive him after everything, but to his disappointment, she did not.
Meanwhile, the promo shows that Joan and Sherlock will investigate the puzzling murder of a man. Gregson (Aidan Quinn) is telling the pair that the victim was killed because of a guitar. According to the captain, it is a piece of rock history worth killing over. There is no witness to the crime, which makes things more difficult for the consultants. The homicide was only discovered due to a "cutting edge gunshot detection system." Joan and Sherlock both look confused, debating on the best way to approach the case.
"Elementary" season 5 airs on Sundays at 10 p.m. EDT on CBS.
