Eminem Confirms New "ShadyXV" Album; Releases Song "Guts Over Fear" (VIDEO)
Eminem recently confirmed the release date for his next album "ShadyXV" for November of this year.
He took to Twitter to make a formal announcement after various hints were dropped during the past few months.
"Yes it's official… #SHADYXV Black Friday," he tweeted while providing a link for a video preview of the project.
The rapper will follow up his 2013 album "The Marshal Mathers LP 2" with this brand new record titled "ShadyXV" that will commemorate the 15th anniversary of his debut "The Slim Shady LP."
The first single off the album titled "Guts Over Fear" was announced in a trailer released by Eminem last Friday for a film called "The Equalizer" that stars Denzel Washington. The Black Friday launch date was first hinted at during the trailer.
Eminem's manager Paul Rosenburg tweeted out "Shady XV" back in June. The rapper followed his tweet with the same message with a hash tag attached to it at the end of the Monster Tour with Rihanna.
Based on the short video trailer, "ShadyXV" could also end up being a compilation album featuring the artists that are signed to his Shady label including Yelawolf and Slaughterhouse. The clip uses 50 Cent's 2003 hit "Patiently Waiting," which was produced by and featured Eminem, to introduce the new project.
Eminem's last Shady compilation album, "The Re-Up," was released in 2006 and featured then label-mates Obie Trice, 50 Cent and D12.
The rapper also seems to enjoy releasing projects in late Nov. as his last LP launched around the same time last year. "The Marshal Mathers LP 2" was a huge success, selling over 800,000 units in the first week and spawning hit singles such as "The Monster" and "Bezerk." Eminem announced that album in a special video clip during MTV's Video Music Awards last year.
