Eminem New Album 2013: MMLP2 First Single 'Berzerk' Out Tuesday
Eminem announced the title and release date of his new album, and now the first single, "Berzerk," is expected Tuesday.
After months of speculation on names of the album ranging from Redemption to NiNE, he decided to relive a classic of his own, calling it, Marshall Mathers LP 2.
The album will be released November 5.
"Berzerk" found its way into a promotional trailer on his website posted on Sunday night. Another trailer, a Beats by Dre commercial showed more of the song and was released during the MTV Video Music Awards.
"Let's take it back to straight hip-hop and start it from scratch/I'm about to bloody this track up, everybody get back/That's why my pen needs a pad because my rhymes' on the rag," Eminem raps in the commercial.
According to MTV, Eminem collaborated with longtime music friends Dr. Dre and Rick Rubin on the creation of this upcoming album.
"Guess who's REALLY back? #VMAs," Eminem said on his Instagram as he posted a picture.
The rapper recently released, "Survival," which is in the trailer for upcoming video game, Call of Duty: Ghosts, to be released November 5.
"Survival" was world premiered two weeks ago at a Call of Duty worldwide multi-player event. Eminem appeared on a video at the end of the trailer and told those watching that a music video for the song was on the way, and that details for the album would be coming shortly.
"The [new] song's about fighting back and it seems like it fits Ghosts perfectly," Eminem said in the video statement. "I'm gonna be a big part of the [Call of Duty] game. My new song's in it, got a video dropping for it soon too."
