Eminem New Album Release Date Set for July 2
Eminem's next album release date is now rumored for July 2.
The rapper recently appeared on his Aftermath labelmate 50 Cent's song "My Life" and now will launch a new full length studio album just in time for the fourth of July, according to a report from AllHipHop.com.
The announcement was originally made by Michigan radio station Channel 95.5. However, neither Eminem nor his record label have officially confirmed this date, or any release date for that matter.
He did hint at a new solo album in 2013 when he released a limited edition baseball cap in October of last year.
The cap was inspired by his hometown team the Detroit Tigers, who played in the World Series last year. It displayed his patented backwards E on the front with the years of all his album releases on the side.
The final year to be displayed is 2013 alluding to a possible album release from Eminem this year.
The cap displays 1996 for his Infinite album, 1999 for Slim Shady LP, 2000 for the Marshal Mathers LP, 2002 for the Eminem Show, 2004 for Encore, 2009 for Relapse, and 2010 for Recovery. The hat can be purchased at Eminem's web store.
Eminem first announced he was working on a new solo album back in August when he phoned in to the Channel 955 radio station in Detroit.
"I actually started my album," said Eminem to the station. "But I haven't fully went in yet because I've been finishing up this Slaughterhouse record. I've kind of been really hands-on with this album for the past year."
At that time, Eminem did not confirm a release date for his next LP. He also updated the station on his relationship with rapper 50 Cent, who also will drop a new album this year titled Street King Immortal.
"Ever since [Shady/Aftermath Records] started making music with [50 Cent], it was always like a mutual respect thing and we became friends outside of music," said Eminem. "50 is very big on the business aspects of his career. I would consider him a smart business man. Not saying that I'm not, but I don't get into as much of the technical aspect in the business sense."
Eminem's last solo album Recovery was released in 2010 and has sold over 4 million copies in the U.S. alone.
