Emma Roberts Arrested for Domestic Violence: Actress Addresses 'Unfortunate Incident'
Emma Roberts was arrested this weekend for domestic violence against her boyfriend, Evan Peters. The couple has since spoken out about the "unfortunate incident" and are determined "to move past it."
According to reports, Roberts and Peters got into a heated verbal argument that then turned physical, with each person striking the other. Peters was left with a bloody nose and a bite mark, and when police showed up after being called by a neighbor, they took Roberts into custody.
"It was an unfortunate incident and misunderstanding," the couple told Us Weekly. "Ms. Roberts was released after questioning and the couple are working together to move past it."

Roberts was, in fact, released after several hours of questioning. Peters told police that he did not want to press charges against his girlfriend. The two have been dating since 2012 and will actually work together on the new season of "American Horror Story." The couple is apparently quite serious about the relationship, and Peters has called Roberts "the love of my life," according to one report.
Roberts has had a career with multiple facets; the 22-year-old first starred on Nickelodeon's "Unfabulous" and went on to record her first album, which served as the TV show's soundtrack. Since then, she has managed to maintain her music and acting careers.
Peters, meanwhile, has focused solely on his acting career. He has starred in several TV commercials, hold supporting and lead roles in films and guest star on popular series such as "House," and "The Office." However, his breakthrough role came in the form of Tate Langdon, star of "American Horror Story." Peters has portrayed the character since the first season and will continue to do so in the upcoming season, "American Horror Story: Coven."
Roberts is the niece of Hollywood icon Julia Roberts but has never attempted to build her career upon her aunt's. Last Halloween, though, the younger Roberts paid tribute to her aunt by dressing up as her famous character from "Pretty Woman."
