Emmy Awards Best Dressed and Worst Picks 2012 (PHOTO)
The 64th Annual Emmy Awards occurred on Sunday night and the reviews are officially in; who was the best dressed and more interesting who was the worst?
It was a night of surprises, with a third round win for "Modern Family" but a disappointing title loss for "Mad Men" which was beat out by first time winner "Homeland." But what didn't disappoint was fashion, as the stars arrived to the 64th Annual Emmy Awards.
Ginnifer Goodwin of "Happy Endings" donned an orange dress that appeared as fairytale-esque as her role on the show, while Sofia Vergara set the hue of the night in a sea colored blue green. Others who donned a similar ocean vibe were Heidi Klum and Nicole Kidman, both of who topped the best-dressed list. Emily Van Camp of "Revenge" also made the list of best dressed although her show was slighted in the eyes of some.
Stars who fell on the not so amusing list included Hayden Panettiere in a toga style Marchesa gown and Mayim Bialik in a too red sort of red. Claire Danes also missed the mark donning a yellow gown that neither hid nor complimented her baby bump, although her character on "Homeland" was a better success as she won best actress of a drama.
Lena Dunham of "Girls" also got the ax with a navy lace Prada gown that was cut too high to flatter her figure. Julianne Moore's little miss sunshine look was also voted "too young" for the actress. Lena Heady of "Game of Thrones" was accused of stealing out of the costume closet on set and Glen Close "too matronly" for her bondage styled dress.
"Homeland" actor Damien Lew scored the title of best actor in a drama, making it a full swoop for the five-year series. "Downton Abbey" also didn't go home without an award, Maggie Smith won best supporting actress.
