'Empire' Season 2 Episode 6 Spoilers: Cookie and Lucious Set Aside Differences to Look for Hakeem, Jamal In Studio Again
American soap opera "Empire" is returning on Wednesday with an intense plot after the events of the previous episode. According to Latin Post, the sixth episode of the show will see the ex-couple Lucious (Terrence Howard) and Cookie Lyon (Taraji P. Henson) getting back together, not romantically but as a team, to look for their youngest son, Hakeem (Bryshere Y. Gray), who was last seen being kidnapped by an unidentified gang.
As the official synopsis reads: "Lucious and Cookie put aside their differences and work together as parents to protect their family and keep them out of danger."
In Pop Matters' episode five review, it noted that Hakeem's abduction is a big mystery considering Lucious' reputation. He is also known to protect his own so it'd be a risk to anyone who tries to make a move as such to anyone in the family. But just like what the site said, anything can happen in the "Empire" world.
In the promo video released, it showed Cookie initially putting the blame of the abduction on Lucious first because he almost had Hakeem killed before. But the patriarch of the family denied the allegation and even went on his way to figure out who has taken their son.
How the Lyons will find Hakeem is still to be revealed but it is hinted that he will surely be back with his family safe and alive because showrunner Ilene Chaiken told Variety that the fans will see the character in the upcoming episodes growing and becoming a more mature man. He will definitely need to be alive to be that person.
Meanwhile, after being dumped by his boyfriend Michael for a photographer, Jamal (Jussie Smollet) is back to the studio to build himself as more than just a gay artist.
"Empire" season 2 episode 6 titled "A High Hope for a Low Heaven" will air on Nov. 4 at 9 p.m. EDT.
