'Empire' Season 2 News, Cast, Spoilers: Cookie and Candace Team Up

Fox's musical show "Empire" will be stepping away from the drama among musical artists in the next episode and will instead focus more on building relationships as Cookie and Candace will team up.

A synopsis for episode 9 has already been released and it seems that Cookie and Candace will be on a mission. According to Design N Trend, the synopsis states, "Cookie and her sister, Candace (guest star Vivica A. Fox), team up with a former prison mate (guest star Rosie O'Donnell) to rescue their sister, Carol."

It also reveals that Jamal will be busy on making music, and possibly a love connection as well, as the synopsis further says, "Back at Empire, Jamal and critically acclaimed pop star Skye Summers (guest star Alicia Keys) begin collaborating and soon share a deep connection."

Finally, while Cookie is focused on other things, Laz (Adam Rodriguez) may be dealing with the feelings he has for Cookie. Although he knows he had fallen in love with her, Cookie may not at all be ready to jump into a relationship with him when she finds out a truth that he's been hiding.

Meanwhile, the recently aired episode 8 featured a rap battle between Hakeem and Freda, which had many fans still arguing who did better. The battle showed that each one had their own strengths, thus making the competition a close fight. While Freda fared better than Hakeem on rapping, Hakeem was able to make up for it by being the better showman. The battle came down to not only who has the better skills in rapping but also on the overall presentation, as Freda came out the winner. At the end, Cookie was seen celebrating after the battle, but the party ended soon when her sister Candace, played by Vivica A. Fox, showed up to talk to Cookie about their sister's disappearance.

Episode 9 is entitled "Sinned Against" and will air on Wednesday, Nov. 25 at 9 p.m. ET on FOX.
