Midseason Premiere Of 'Empire' Sees Lucious and Cookie at War

The wait is almost over. The third season of "Empire" returns this month. And based on the promo released for the spring premiere, there is a lot more drama in store for Lucious (Terrence Howard) and Cookie (Taraji P. Henson).

The midseason premiere, titled "Sound and Fury," will see Lucious revealing his plans for Inferno, a new music project. However, this comes as bad news for Cookie, who promises to take Lucious down a peg.

The teaser trailer for the new episode features Lucious confronting Cookie about her feelings for him, which she is scared of admitting to. The reveal of a new project clearly gets to her and she lashes out at him by trashing his office with a baseball bat. It looks like their encounter also becomes violent, as he can be seen with blood on the side of his forehead. Cookie, however, admits that Lucious has a way with her that makes it hard for her to turn her back on him.

Elsewhere in the clip, Giusi (Nia Long) points a gun at Lucious. He can also be seen at the hospital as Cookie visits him, but it is unknown if his admission to the hospital is a result of Giusi's actions or Cookie's.

The second half of season 3 will also see the first appearance of Rumer Willis as Tory Ash, a musician whom Jamal (Jussie Smollett) befriends at rehab. Willis' mother, Demi Moore, will also be guest starring on "Empire" this spring. The news was revealed in February. According to Deadline, Moore will play a nurse with a mysterious past. However, her character is not set to debut until the season 3 finale, which will set up her role for season 4, where Moore has been tapped to recur.

"Empire" season 3 returns on Wednesday, March 22, at 9 p.m. EDT on Fox.
