English Should be America's Official Language, Rick Perry Says
Republican Rick Perry has given his unambiguous backing for the United States to have English as its national language.
The subject was brought up by a voter at a county Republican Party fundraiser in Iowa on Friday, who expressed his frustration with seeing products carry labels translated into numerous languages. The voter said that he’d like English to be made the official language of the United States.
In response the presidential hopeful admitted that he agreed with the voter’s point of view.
Perry, who is currently the governor of Texas, is hoping to attract the backing of conservatives just days prior to Iowa’s caucuses.
Already this week Perry has strongly expressed his opposition to abortion, and even went as far as saying that abortion should not be allowed even in cases of rape and incest. He added that the sole exception he believed should be allowed is if the life of the mother was in jeopardy.
