Erin Andrews Fox Sports Show Announced
Sports news reporter Erin Andrews has left ESPN and will host a new primetime college football show on Fox, the network announced Sunday.
Andrews signed a multiyear contract with Fox Sports just as her contract with ESPN expired on Saturday. The new weekly football studio show will air Saturdays starting on Sept. 1 as a means to challenge ESPN's sports coverage ratings.
"To have the chance to not only host the primetime college football pregame show, but cover the NFL, MLB, and various other incredible Fox Sports properties is a once in a lifetime opportunity," said the 34-year-old sportscaster in a statement.
"I couldn't be more excited to get to work," she added.
In addition to hosting the television show, Andrews' representative Dan Bell said the reporter would fill "significant" roles on Fox MLB and NFL coverage.
During her nearly 13 years at ESPN, Andrews was a "College GameDay" host and reporter and a sideline reporter on college football and basketball. The network's vice president of communications Josh Krulewitz wished the reporter well on her new endeavor.
"Erin Andrews leaving ESPN," wrote Krulewitz. "She did great work for us & we made an aggressive offer to keep her. We wish her the best on her next chapter."
Andrews became well known in the sports community for her role with ESPN and has appeared in several talk shows including "The Oprah Winfrey Show," "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" and "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno."
Moreover, the sports expert appeared on the 10th season of "Dancing With the Stars" where she placed third.
Sports fans, including celebrities, are congratulating Andrews for her move to Fox on Twitter Monday.
Model and friend of Andrews' Chrissie Teigan posted, "Very happy and excited for @erinandrews!! We shall celebrate this weekend with some ribs and champagne!"
"Congrats on the new gig @foxsports @erinandrews," wrote Megan.
