Euro 2012: Sweden vs. France – Watch Online Live Stream
The Euro 2012 group stages concludes Tuesday with Group D still to settle business. France vs. Sweden will kick off at 2.45 p.m. EST as France looks to finish the job and confirm their place in the quarter finals. The match can be watched live on ESPN 2 or online through live stream on ESPN 3 (see details below).
France are favorites to win the group and currently sit in first place of Group D. If they win or draw they are through. Even if France lose then Ukraine must beat England and France lose by a much larger margin than England, for them to go out.
France will see this match as important though, and if they can finish the match top of Group D they will avoid current World and European champions Spain, who will play the side finishing second in Group D in the quarter finals. Whoever finishes first in Group D will get to play Italy – still potentially one of the toughest sides to play against, and one of the most successful in soccer history, but currently Spain and Germany are the two sides to avoid until absolutely necessary.
France have done reasonably well in Group D so far, coming back from a goal down to draw against England, and then getting an efficient 2-0 win over Ukraine in their second game.
Sweden, however, are already eliminated and have only pride to play for today. Sweden lost to Ukraine in their opening game to the anger of their fans and media. They responded by pushing England all the way in their second game but came up just short, losing 3-2 conceding a goal with just over 10 minutes to go in the game.
