People across Europe gave three minutes of silence for the victims of Asia’s tsunami disaster, on Wednesday, January 5, 2004. Both religious and political figures joined thousands of Europeans in paying respect to the 150,000 dead – the figure includes several thousand tourists, many of the Europeans, dead.
